It’s easier to carry on a conversation with a person that you know, than it is to converse with a person you don’t know. When you know a person well, you can anticipate where the conversation will go. It’s familiar, natural, because you have an idea of what’s coming.

In worship, God wants to have a conversation with us. He wants to communicate his love and forgiveness, and his commands. He wants us to pray to him and praise him. We want to get as much out of that conversation as we can, so it can be helpful to have an idea of what’s coming.

That’s what this page is for. “What’s Coming in Worship” is an opportunity for you to know a little bit of what’s coming. A preview of the readings and lessons can help you to begin to see themes and connections, it can get you thinking about the conversation you’re going to have with God on Sunday. You can even prepare your family. Children like to know what’s coming, too!
