Our Pastor

My wife, Sarah, and I are happy to call Knoxville our home. It’s a dream come true to get to share the peace found in Jesus full-time. It's the best message the world has ever heard and I’m here to talk more with you about it.

5 Things About Me:

1) Being at a church like ours (medium-sized) gives me a great opportunity: to be… a pastor! I love that I get to know so many people, teach one-on-one and in small groups, and preach to many familiar faces.

2) I spent a lot of time studying languages in college (Martin Luther College) and seminary (Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary). But now I'm thankful that I can read the Bible how it was originally written (in Hebrew and Greek) and share that message in Spanish as well as English.

3) If I'm not around church, I'm probably spending time with Sarah and our daughters, and hopefully exploring all the wonderful things around Knoxville.

4) I grew up in the Caribbean on the small island of Antigua, so if you know of any games of cricket around Knoxville, let me know.

5) I'm amazed at how endlessly interesting and applicable the Bible continues to be. Don’t ever let anyone tell you it’s boring!

Our Vicar

Max Nordlie

A Vicar is a pastoral intern assigned to serve our church family for one year as part of his training to become a Pastor. In the seventh year of the eight year training program, Vicars serve in churches under a supervising Pastor to put into practice what they have learned in the classroom and learn through experience what no classroom can teach.

Vicar Max would love to connect with you. Contact him by phone (248-496-5688) or email (max.nordlie10@gmail.com).
